my Ford F-150 14th Generation (2021-2024) is shaking when I brake what could be wrong

1. Preparation

• Gather tools: jack, jack stands, lug wrench, micrometer, dial indicator, brake cleaner, and safety goggles.
• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.

2. Remove Wheels

• Loosen lug nuts on the front wheels slightly before lifting the vehicle.
• Use the jack to raise the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
• Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the front wheels.

3. Inspect Brake Components

• Check the brake pads for thickness; replace if they are below 3mm.
• Inspect brake rotors for scoring or warping. If the rotor thickness is below specification or excessive runout is detected, proceed to replace the rotors.
• Clean the rotor surface with brake cleaner.

4. Replace Brake Rotors (if necessary)

• Remove the caliper bolts and lift the caliper away from the rotor.
• Secure the caliper with a bungee cord to avoid stretching the brake line.
• Remove the old rotor by unscrewing any retaining screws.
• Install the new rotor, ensuring it is seated properly.
• Reattach the caliper and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 25-35 ft-lbs).

5. Reassemble and Test

• Reinstall the wheels and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
