Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Safety gear: gloves, safety glasses.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal to avoid electrical shocks.
2. Remove the Fuel Pump Relay
  • Locate the fuel pump relay in the fuse box.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the relay.
  • Check for continuity using a multimeter; if faulty, replace with a new relay.
3. Replace the Fuel Pump Fuse
  • Locate the fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse box.
  • Pull the fuse out using a fuse puller or needle-nose pliers.
  • Inspect the fuse for continuity; replace it if it is blown.
4. Access and Inspect Fuel Pump
  • If necessary, remove the rear seat or access panel in the bed to reach the fuel pump assembly.
  • Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
  • Remove the retaining ring and lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank.
5. Install New Fuel Pump (if applicable)
  • Compare the old pump to the new one to ensure compatibility.
  • Install the new fuel pump by reversing the removal steps.
  • Secure the retaining ring and reconnect the electrical connector.
6. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery negative terminal.
  • Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine to prime the fuel system.
  • Check for leaks around the fuel pump area.
  • Attempt to start the engine.
