1. Preparation

  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before working on the fuel system to prevent electrical shocks.

2. Remove Fuel Injectors
  1. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  3. Remove the air intake duct for access to the throttle body.
  4. Disconnect fuel lines from the fuel rail, using appropriate line wrenches to avoid damage.
  5. Unplug electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  6. Remove the fuel rail bolts and carefully lift the rail along with the injectors out of the intake manifold.
3. Clean Injectors
  1. Connect the fuel injector cleaning kit to the fuel rail.
  2. Fill the cleaning kit with the appropriate fuel injector cleaner.
  3. Turn on the cleaning kit to pressurize and flush the cleaner through the injectors for the recommended duration.

  5. Disconnect the cleaning kit and reassemble the fuel rail with injectors.
4. Reinstall Fuel Injectors
  1. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-rings of the fuel injectors to ensure a proper seal.

  3. Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors.
  4. Reinstall the air intake duct and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  5. Reinstall the fuel pump fuse.
