Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Coolant drain pan
    • Socket set
    • Pliers
    • Screwdrivers
    • Funnel
    • OBD-II scanner (if needed)
  • Ensure the engine is cool before proceeding.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check Coolant Level
  • Remove the coolant reservoir cap.
  • Check the coolant level; refill with the appropriate type of coolant if low.
3. Inspect for Leaks
  • Visually inspect the heater core and associated hoses for signs of coolant leaks.
  • If leaks are present, identify the source of the leak.
4. Bleed Air from Cooling System
  • Locate the bleeder valve on the cooling system (if equipped).
  • Use a funnel to fill the radiator with coolant until it overflows from the bleeder valve.
  • Close the bleeder valve and run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then check for gurgling noises again.
5. Repair or Replace Components
  • If the heater core is leaking, remove the dashboard and perform the following:
    • Detach the heater core hoses.
    • Remove any retaining screws and clips securing the heater core.
    • Pull out the heater core and replace it with a new one.
    • Reverse the removal steps to install the new heater core.
