Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, new battery (typically CR2032 for Ford key fobs), OBD-II scanner (optional).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and secured.
  • Disconnect the battery if needed for safety while working on electrical components.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  2. Remove the old battery carefully, noting the orientation of the positive and negative sides.
  3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together until it clicks securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn the key back to "Off" and remove it.
  3. Within 10 seconds, insert the key back into the ignition and turn it to "On" again.
  4. Repeat this process eight times within 10 seconds (the vehicle will enter programming mode after the eighth time).
  5. Press any button on the key fob to program it.
  6. Turn the ignition to "Off" to exit programming mode.
