Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and materials.
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, wrench set, multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is turned off.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Use a wrench to loosen the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the negative terminal and secure it away from the battery to prevent accidental reconnection.
3. Remove the TCM (if necessary)
  • Locate the TCM, which may be secured by bolts or clips.
  • Use a socket set or wrench to remove any fasteners holding the TCM in place.
  • Carefully disconnect the wiring harness from the TCM by pressing the release tab and pulling it out.
4. Reset the TCM
  • If the TCM is removed, wait for at least 15 minutes to allow any stored information to clear.
  • Reconnect the TCM to its wiring harness.
  • If the TCM remains in the vehicle, simply reconnect the battery and proceed to the next step.
5. Reconnect Battery
  • Reattach the negative battery terminal and tighten it securely.
  • Ensure that the connection is firm to prevent any intermittent issues.
6. Test Drive
  • Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
  • Drive the vehicle under various conditions to ensure the transmission operates smoothly without issues.
