Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Socket set
    • Screwdriver set
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal using a socket wrench to ensure safety during the reset process.
2. Access the Transmission Control Module
  • Locate the TCM, which is typically found on the driver's side under the dashboard or near the transmission.
  • Remove the screws or fasteners securing the TCM using a screwdriver or socket as needed.
  • Carefully disconnect the wiring harness from the TCM by pressing the release tab.
3. Reset the TCM
  • With the TCM disconnected, wait for at least 10-15 minutes to allow any residual power to dissipate.
  • Reconnect the wiring harness firmly to the TCM until you hear a click indicating it is secure.
  • Reinstall the TCM in its original position and secure with screws or fasteners.
4. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
  • Start the vehicle and check if the transmission shifts smoothly.
  • If necessary, drive the vehicle for a short distance to allow the TCM to relearn its parameters.
