Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, wrench set, transmission fluid pump, and a drain pan.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed to prevent vehicle movement.
3. Drain the Old Fluid
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully lower the transmission pan to allow old fluid to drain completely.
  • Dispose of the old fluid according to local regulations.
4. Replace the Filter
  • Remove the old transmission filter (if applicable) by unscrewing it or unclip it based on the design.
  • Clean the filter mount area to prevent debris from entering the transmission.
  • Install the new transmission filter securely.
5. Reinstall the Transmission Pan
  • Clean the transmission pan and ensure the gasket surface is free of debris.
  • Apply a thin layer of transmission RTV sealant if required.
  • Reattach the transmission pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 10-12 ft-lbs).
6. Flush the Transmission
  • Use a transmission fluid pump to introduce new fluid into the transmission through the dipstick tube or a dedicated fill port.
  • Continuously check the fluid level and add fluid until it reaches the proper level on the dipstick.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle while cycling through the gears to circulate the new fluid.
7. Check Fluid Level
  • With the engine running, check the transmission fluid level again and add more fluid if necessary to reach the full mark.
