Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small flat-head screwdriver, new key fob battery (CR2032 or specific type), and OBD-II scanner (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob case at the seam.
  2. Carefully separate the two halves of the fob without damaging the internal components.
  3. Remove the old battery from the fob, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  4. Insert the new battery in the same orientation.
  5. Reassemble the key fob by snapping the two halves back together until secure.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and the key fob handy.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the "Unlock" button on the driver's door while turning the key back to the "Off" position.
  4. Turn the key to the "On" position again and press "Unlock" on the driver's door.
  5. Repeat this process three times, ending with the key in the "On" position.
  6. Press the "Lock" button on the key fob to complete the programming.
