Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, A/C refrigerant.
  • Locate the low-pressure service port (usually on the larger A/C line).
  • Connect the low side fitting of the manifold gauge to the low-pressure port.
  • Start the engine and turn on the A/C to the maximum setting.
  • Check the pressure readings on the gauge. If low, proceed to add refrigerant until the proper level is reached (consult the owner's manual for specific refrigerant type and capacity).
  • Remove the gauge set and recap the service port.
3. Replace A/C Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, socket set, torque wrench, A/C compressor oil.
  • Remove the serpentine belt by using a wrench on the tensioner pulley.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C compressor.
  • Remove the refrigerant lines connected to the compressor (ensure all refrigerant is properly recovered).
  • Unbolt the A/C compressor from its mounting (note the torque specifications for reinstallation).
  • Install the new A/C compressor and torque bolts to specification.
  • Reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connector.
4. Check and Replace Cabin Air Filter (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: None.
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel (usually behind the glove box).
  • Remove the panel and take out the old cabin air filter.
  • Inspect the filter for dirt and debris; replace it with a new filter.
