Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather the necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.

2. Remove the Old Master Cylinder
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench set, brake fluid catch container.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Place a catch container under the master cylinder to collect any spilled brake fluid.
  • Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap and carefully siphon out any remaining fluid.
  • Using the appropriate socket or wrench, remove the bolts securing the master cylinder to the brake booster.
  • Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder using a flare nut wrench to prevent rounding the fittings.
  • Carefully pull the master cylinder away from the brake booster and remove it from the vehicle.
3. Install the New Master Cylinder
  • Parts Required: New master cylinder, new brake fluid.
