Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the replacement.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and engage the parking brake.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front or rear of the vehicle as required.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure safety.
3. Remove Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  • Store the lug nuts in a safe location.
4. Remove Strut Assembly
  • Disconnect any brake line brackets or ABS sensors attached to the strut.
  • Remove the lower strut mounting bolts using a socket set.
  • Remove the upper strut mounting nuts located under the hood or in the trunk (depending on the model year).
  • Carefully extract the strut assembly from the vehicle.
5. Install New Strut
  • Position the new strut assembly in place.
  • Secure the upper strut mounting nuts and torque to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reattach the lower strut mounting bolts and torque them accordingly.
  • Reconnect any brake lines or ABS sensors that were removed.
6. Reinstall Wheel
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub.
  • Hand-tighten the lug nuts, then lower the vehicle and use a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts to proper specifications.
7. Final Inspection
  • Check all connections and components to ensure everything is securely in place.
  • Lower the vehicle completely and perform a bounce test to verify proper installation.
