1. Preparation

• Reinsert the dipstick fully, then remove it again to check the oil level.
• If low, add the appropriate type of oil (5W-20 for most F-150 models) until the level is correct.

3. Replace Oil Filter

• Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
• Apply a thin layer of new oil on the rubber seal of the new oil filter.
• Install the new oil filter and tighten it by hand until snug.

4. Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)

• Drain the engine oil using a drain pan.
• Remove the oil pan by unbolting it; clean the gasket surface.
