Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location and parked safely.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical shorts during the repair.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small screwdriver or coin
  • Remove the back cover of the key fob using the screwdriver or coin.
  • Take out the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side is facing up.
  • Reassemble the key fob by snapping the cover back on.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Tools Required: None
  • Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine and then back to "OFF" six times within 10 seconds. The locks should cycle to indicate programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob to synchronize it with the vehicle. The locks should cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  • Turn the ignition to "ON" to exit programming mode.
4. Inspect and Repair Door Lock Actuators (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter
  • Remove the door panel from the affected door(s) to access the door lock actuator.
  • Disconnect the actuator's wiring harness and check for voltage using a multimeter.
  • If the actuator is faulty, replace it with a new one by removing the screws and disconnecting it from the linkage.
  • Reconnect the new actuator and reassemble the door panel.
