Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
  • Gather necessary tools and safety equipment.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Use a wrench to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery to prevent electrical shock.
3. Remove Left Front Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a socket set.
  • Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
4. Inspect and Replace Wheel Speed Sensor
  • Locate the left front wheel speed sensor on the hub assembly.
  • Disconnect the sensor connector by pressing the tab and pulling it apart.
  • Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the sensor to the hub using a socket.
  • Carefully pull the sensor out of its mount.
  • Install the new wheel speed sensor by reversing the removal steps:
    • Insert the new sensor into the hub assembly.
    • Secure it with the mounting bolt(s) and torque to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 10-15 lb-ft).
    • Reconnect the sensor's wiring harness.
5. Reassemble and Reconnect Battery
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and fully tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to the specified torque (usually around 100-150 lb-ft).
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. Clear Error Codes
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the C0045 error code from the vehicle’s computer.
