Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, new battery (typically CR2032), and a clean workspace.
  • Ensure you have a clear understanding of the key fob design and components.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Using the small flathead screwdriver, gently insert it into the seam of the key fob.
  • Twist the screwdriver to pry open the fob carefully, avoiding damage to the casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Identify the battery location inside the key fob. Note the orientation (positive and negative sides) of the battery.
  • Carefully remove the old battery by using your fingers or the screwdriver to lift it out.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Place the new battery into the key fob, ensuring it is oriented in the same direction as the old battery (positive side facing the correct way).
  • Press down gently to secure the battery in place.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press them together firmly until they snap back into place, ensuring there are no gaps.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Test the functionality of the key fob by pressing the buttons to check if they respond correctly.
  • If equipped, test the remote start feature as well.
