Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, replacement battery (CR2032), and OBD-II scanner (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a well-ventilated area and parked safely.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and check for any corrosion on the contacts.
  3. Insert the new battery (CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if needed)
  1. Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  2. Turn the ignition to the "On" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "Off" 8 times within 10 seconds. The locks should cycle to indicate programming mode.
  3. Press any button on the key fob within 20 seconds to program it.
  4. Turn the ignition back to "On" to exit programming mode.
4. Check and Reset Receiver Module
  1. Disconnect the vehicle's battery (negative terminal) and wait for 5 minutes.
  2. Reconnect the battery and check if the key fob functions properly.
  3. If still not working, inspect the receiver module located under the dash or in the rear of the vehicle for any signs of damage or loose connections.
