Solution
1. Preparation
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal for safety.

Tools Required:

  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Funnel
  • Clean rags
2. Check and Replace Power Steering Fluid
  1. Locate the power steering fluid reservoir.
  2. Remove the cap and check the fluid level.
  3. If low, siphon out old fluid using a clean siphoning tool.
  4. Replace with manufacturer-recommended power steering fluid.
  5. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock to circulate the fluid.
  6. Recheck fluid level and top off if necessary.
3. Inspect and Replace Power Steering Pump (if necessary)
  1. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump by loosening the tensioner.
  2. Disconnect the power steering lines from the pump using a wrench.
  3. Unbolt the power steering pump from its mounting bracket and remove it.
  4. Install the new power steering pump in reverse order of removal.
  5. Reconnect the power steering lines and re-install the drive belt.
  6. Make sure to torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
4. Check Power Steering Belt
  1. Inspect the power steering belt for signs of wear, cracks, or looseness.
  2. If damaged, replace the belt by loosening the tensioner, removing the old belt, and installing a new one.
  3. Ensure proper tension on the new belt as per manufacturer specifications.
