Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit working environment.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety during the process.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the key fob using a small flat-head screwdriver.
  2. Carefully pry apart the casing without damaging the internals.
  3. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side is facing up.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together until it is securely closed.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position (do not start the engine) three times within 10 seconds.
  3. Turn the key to the "Off" position on the third turn, and the door locks should cycle, indicating the vehicle is in programming mode.
  4. Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds to program it. The locks should cycle again to confirm successful programming.
  5. Turn the key to "Off" and remove it from the ignition.
4. Test Key Fob Functionality
  1. With the vehicle still, press the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob to verify operation.
  2. Check for the remote start function, if equipped.
