Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and equipment: a flathead screwdriver (if needed to open the key fob), and a working replacement battery.
  • Ensure all vehicle doors are closed and the interior lights are off to avoid battery drain.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing without damaging it.
  • Carefully separate the two halves of the key fob.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing the correct direction as indicated in the key fob.
  • Reassemble the key fob by snapping the two halves back together, ensuring they fit securely.
4. Reset the Key Fob
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (but do not start the engine).
  • Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Test the key fob by pressing the lock and unlock buttons.
