Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety during electrical work.
2. Inspect and Replace the Fuse
  • Locate the fuse box and identify the wiper fuse.
  • Remove the fuse using a fuse puller or pliers.
  • Check the fuse for continuity using a multimeter.
  • If blown, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage rating.
3. Test and Replace the Wiper Motor
  • Remove the wiper arms using a socket set.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the wiper motor.
  • Use a multimeter to test for power at the motor connector when the wiper switch is activated.
  • If no power is present, trace the wiring back to the switch.
  • If power is present but the motor does not operate, replace the wiper motor.
    • To do this, unbolt the motor from its mount and remove it.
    • Install the new motor and secure it with bolts to the mount.
4. Inspect the Wiper Linkage
  • After removing the wiper arms, check the linkage for any signs of wear or breakage.
  • Clean and lubricate the linkage if it’s stiff.
  • Replace any damaged components in the linkage assembly.
