Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and components.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before beginning work.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues.
2. Check and Refill Coolant
  • Locate the coolant reservoir and remove the cap.
  • Inspect the coolant level; if low, refill with the appropriate type of coolant (usually a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water).
  • Start the engine and let it run until warm, then check for leaks.
3. Replace the Thermostat (if faulty)
  • Drain the coolant from the radiator to a safe level.
  • Remove the thermostat housing bolts using a socket set.
  • Take out the old thermostat and replace it with a new one, ensuring the correct orientation.
  • Reattach the thermostat housing and torque to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 10-15 ft-lbs).
  • Refill the coolant to the proper level.
4. Inspect and Flush the Heater Core
  • Disconnect the heater core hoses at the firewall.
  • Use a garden hose to flush the heater core in both directions until the water runs clear.
  • Reconnect the hoses securely.
5. Replace the Blend Door Actuator (if malfunctioning)
  • Remove the dashboard panel to access the blend door actuator.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness and remove screws securing the actuator.
  • Install the new actuator and reconnect the wiring.
  • Reassemble the dashboard.
