Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure you have a new battery compatible with the key fob (commonly CR2032).
  • Have the owner's manual available for reference on reprogramming.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing along the seam.
    2. Remove the old battery and note the orientation.
    3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    4. Snap the key fob casing back together until it clicks securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
    2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
    3. Turn the key to the "On" position again, and the locks should cycle indicating that the vehicle is in programming mode.
    4. Press any button on the key fob within 40 seconds; the locks should cycle again confirming successful programming.
    5. Turn the key to "Off" to exit programming mode.
