Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: Small flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032), and an OBD-II scanner (if necessary).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location with no distractions.
2. Battery Replacement
  • Sub-step 1: Open the key fob using a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver into the slot and gently twist to separate the two halves.
  • Sub-step 2: Remove the old battery carefully, noting the orientation (positive and negative sides).
  • Sub-step 3: Insert the new battery (CR2032) in the same orientation as the old battery.
  • Sub-step 4: Reassemble the key fob by pressing the two halves together until they click into place.
3. Reprogramming the Key Fob
  • Sub-step 1: Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine) and then back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Sub-step 3: After the fifth turn, leave the key in the "On" position. The locks should cycle to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Sub-step 4: Press any button on the key fob once to program it. The locks should cycle again to confirm programming.
  • Sub-step 5: Turn the ignition to "Off" to exit programming mode.
