Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
2. Check Oil Level and Condition
  • Remove the oil dipstick and wipe it clean.
  • Reinsert the dipstick, remove it again, and check the oil level; add oil if necessary.
  • Inspect the oil for color and viscosity; if it appears milky or has metal shavings, an oil change and further inspection are required.
3. Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit (if faulty)
  • Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
  • Use a socket wrench to unscrew the sending unit from the engine.
  • Apply thread sealant to the new sending unit and install it.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Test Oil Pressure
  • Remove the oil pressure sending unit and install a mechanical oil pressure gauge.
  • Start the engine and observe the oil pressure reading; it should be within the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • If the pressure reading is low, the oil pump may need to be replaced.
5. Inspect and Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)
  • If the oil pump is faulty, drain the engine oil.
  • Remove the oil pan by unscrewing the bolts securing it.
  • Take out the old oil pump and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is properly aligned.
  • Reinstall the oil pan with a new gasket and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
  • Refill the engine with fresh oil.
