Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Inspect and Clean Throttle Body
  • Remove the throttle body assembly by unscrewing the bolts and disconnecting the electrical connectors.
  • Clean the throttle body using a throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to remove carbon deposits.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 10 Nm).
3. Replace Air Filter
  • Open the air filter housing by unscrewing any retaining clips or screws.
  • Remove the old air filter and inspect the housing for debris.
  • Install a new air filter, ensuring it fits snugly and seals properly.
  • Close and secure the air filter housing.
4. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if necessary)
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and start the vehicle to check if the pressure meets manufacturer specifications (usually between 50-60 psi).
  • If the pressure is low, proceed to replace the fuel pump:
    • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
    • Disconnect the battery, then remove the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank.
    • Install the new fuel pump and reconnect all electrical connectors and fuel lines.
    • Reinstall the fuel pump assembly into the tank and reconnect the battery.
5. Check and Clean MAF Sensor
  • Remove the MAF sensor from the intake duct by unscrewing it.
  • Use MAF cleaner to gently clean the sensor elements; avoid touching them with your fingers.
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor and ensure it is securely fastened.
