Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts necessary for repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, socket set.
  • Remove the intake duct connected to the throttle body by loosening the clamps and detaching it.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the inside of the throttle body, ensuring no carbon buildup remains.
  • Reattach the intake duct securely.
3. Test and Replace Throttle Position Sensor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Multimeter, screwdriver, replacement throttle position sensor.
  • Locate the throttle position sensor on the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor and use a multimeter to measure the voltage output.
    • If output is out of specification, proceed to replace the sensor.
  • Remove the sensor by unscrewing the mounting screws and replacing it with a new unit.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect Wiring Harness
  • Tools Required: Digital multimeter.
  • Perform a visual inspection of the wiring harness for frays or disconnections.
  • Use the multimeter to check for continuity between the throttle body and the ECU.
    • Repair or replace any damaged sections of the wiring harness.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  • Test the throttle response by pressing the accelerator pedal.
