Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket.
  • Remove the engine cover if necessary.
  • Disconnect the ignition coils and remove them using the socket set.
  • Remove old spark plugs using the spark plug socket.
  • Inspect spark plugs for wear and replace with OEM or equivalent parts, torquing to manufacturer specifications (usually around 22-30 Nm).
  • Reinstall the ignition coils and engine cover.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver set.
  • Locate the throttle body and disconnect the intake air duct.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner on a soft cloth and wipe the inside of the throttle body to remove carbon deposits.
  • Reattach the intake air duct securely.
4. Check and Repair Vacuum Leaks
  • Tools Required: Vacuum gauge (if available), replacement vacuum lines.
  • Inspect all vacuum lines for cracks or disconnections.
  • Replace any damaged vacuum lines with new parts.
  • Use a vacuum gauge to confirm proper pressure if necessary.
5. Verify Fuel Pressure
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge.
  • Locate the fuel pressure test port and attach the gauge.
  • Turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine and check the pressure against the specifications (usually around 50-60 psi for most BMWs).
  • If out of range, inspect the fuel pump and filter for issues.
