Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant gauge set, refrigerant canister, manifold gauge
      1. Locate the low-pressure service port on the AC system.
      1. Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge to the service port.
      1. Start the engine and turn on the AC to the maximum setting.
      1. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines to add the appropriate refrigerant until the gauges indicate correct levels.
      1. Disconnect the manifold gauge and replace the service cap securely.
3. Replace AC Compressor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrenches, torque wrench, AC compressor
      1. Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner pulley and sliding off the belt.
      1. Disconnect electrical connectors from the AC compressor.
      1. Remove the refrigerant lines from the compressor using the appropriate wrenches.
      1. Unbolt the compressor from its mounting bracket and remove it from the engine bay.
      1. Install the new compressor in reverse order, ensuring all bolts are torqued to manufacturer specifications.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter (if obstructed)
  • Tools Required: None (if filter is easily accessible)
      1. Open the glove compartment and locate the cabin air filter access panel.
      1. Remove the access panel and take out the old cabin air filter.
      1. Install the new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
      1. Reattach the access panel and close the glove compartment.
