Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, flathead screwdriver, Torx screwdriver.
2. Check and Replace the Fuse
  • Locate the fuse box, usually found under the dashboard or in the engine compartment.
  • Remove the cover and locate the windshield wiper fuse using the diagram on the fuse box cover.
  • Inspect the fuse; if blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage.
3. Inspect and Replace the Wiper Motor (if faulty)
  • Remove the wiper arms using a flathead screwdriver to gently pry off the plastic covers and a socket to remove the nuts.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the wiper motor.
  • Remove the bolts securing the wiper motor to the vehicle.
  • Install the new wiper motor by reversing the removal steps and reconnecting the wiring harness.
4. Replace the Wiper Switch (if necessary)
  • Remove the steering column cover using a Torx screwdriver.
  • Disconnect the battery again for safety before proceeding.
  • Remove the wiper switch from the steering column by unscrewing it.
  • Install the new wiper switch and reassemble the steering column.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Test the wipers for functionality in all modes, including intermittent and washer operation.
