Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, multimeter
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a well-lit area.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery if working on electrical components for safety.
2. Verify Battery Installation
  • Open the key fob using a small flathead screwdriver.
  • Remove the battery carefully and inspect the terminals for corrosion.
  • Insert the new battery, ensuring correct polarity (positive side facing up).
  • Reassemble the key fob securely.
3. Check Battery Voltage
  • Using a multimeter, set it to measure DC voltage.
  • Place the multimeter probes on the battery terminals; the reading should be around 3V.
  • If the voltage is low, replace the battery again with a new one.
4. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Sit inside the vehicle with all doors closed and the key fob.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Press any button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
  • Test the key fob to see if it functions correctly.
5. Test Proximity Sensor
  • With the key fob inside the vehicle, try to start the engine without pressing the brake pedal.
  • If the vehicle recognizes the fob, the engine should start; if not, consider replacing the key fob.
