Solution
1. Software Update
  1. Connect a USB drive to your computer and download the latest software from the BMW website.
  2. Follow the instructions provided by BMW to transfer the software update to the USB drive.
  3. Insert the USB drive into the vehicle's USB port and follow on-screen instructions to update the infotainment system.
2. Battery Inspection and Replacement (if necessary)
  1. Preparation

    • Tools Required: Multimeter, socket set
    • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
  2. Check Battery Voltage

    • Connect the multimeter leads to the battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative).
    • Read and note the voltage. If below 12.4V, consider charging or replacing the battery.
  3. Replace Battery (if needed)

    • Use a socket set to remove the negative (-) terminal first, followed by the positive (+) terminal.
    • Remove the battery hold-down bracket and lift the old battery out of the tray.
    • Place the new battery in the tray and secure it with the hold-down bracket.
    • Reconnect the positive (+) terminal first, followed by the negative (-) terminal.
3. Wiring Inspection
  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness connected to the infotainment system for any signs of wear or damage.
  2. Clean any corrosion with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect securely.
4. Hard Reset
  1. Turn off the vehicle and wait for 30 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the power button of the infotainment system for approximately 10 seconds until the system restarts.
