Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Replace Fuel Filter
  1. Locate the fuel filter, typically found along the fuel line near the fuel tank.
  2. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
  3. Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter using a line removal tool.
  4. Remove the old fuel filter and install the new filter, ensuring correct orientation (inlet and outlet).
  5. Reconnect the fuel lines and ensure they are secured properly.
3. Clean or Replace Mass Air Flow Sensor
  1. Locate the MAF sensor, usually found between the air filter and throttle body.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor.
  3. Remove the MAF sensor from the intake duct.
  4. Clean the sensor using MAF cleaner spray; do not touch the sensor with your fingers.
  5. Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect and Clean Throttle Body
  1. Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  2. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and any electrical connections.
  3. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the inside of the throttle body, removing carbon buildup.
  4. Reassemble the throttle body and reconnect all electrical connections.
5. Replace Ignition Components (if needed)
  1. Remove engine cover to access ignition coils.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  3. Remove the ignition coils and inspect spark plugs for wear; replace if necessary.
  4. Install new ignition coils and reconnect electrical connectors.
