Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: flat-head screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, new key fob battery (typically CR2032), multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location and the engine is off.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Sub-step 1: Use the flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Sub-step 2: Carefully separate the two halves of the fob without damaging the clips.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Remove the old battery from the key fob compartment.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the new battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Sub-step 3: Reassemble the key fob casing, pressing the two halves together until they click.
4. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 1: Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Sub-step 3: Press any button on the key fob for about 10 seconds to sync it with the vehicle.
  • Sub-step 4: Turn the ignition off and remove the key, then test the key fob.
