Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver, torque wrench.
  • Remove the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any electrical connectors.
  • Use the throttle body cleaner to spray the inside of the throttle body while gently opening the throttle plate by hand.
  • Wipe away the residue with a soft cloth until clean.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct and reconnect any electrical connectors.
3. Inspect and Replace the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (if faulty)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter, torque wrench.
  • Disconnect the connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor.
  • Using a multimeter, check the resistance values according to the service manual specifications.
  • If the sensor is faulty, remove the screws securing the sensor to the pedal assembly.
  • Install the new sensor in reverse order and torque to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes to reset the throttle adaptation.
  • Test the throttle response by pressing the accelerator pedal.
