Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Jack
    • Lug wrench
    • Spare tire
    • Wheel chocks
    • Safety gloves
  • Park the vehicle on a flat, stable surface away from traffic.
  • Engage the parking brake and turn on hazard lights.
2. Loosen Lug Nuts
  • Using the lug wrench, slightly loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire (do not remove them completely).
  • Turn the lug nuts counterclockwise to loosen them.
3. Lift the Vehicle
  • Position the jack under the jacking point of the vehicle (refer to the owner’s manual for the exact location).
  • Raise the vehicle until the flat tire is off the ground.
4. Remove the Flat Tire
  • Remove the loosened lug nuts completely and place them in a safe location.
  • Carefully pull the flat tire straight off the wheel hub and set it aside.
5. Install the Spare Tire
  • Align the spare tire with the wheel hub and push it onto the hub.
  • Hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the wheel studs.
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground slowly using the jack.
  • Once the vehicle is on the ground, remove the jack.
7. Tighten Lug Nuts
  • Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to ensure even tightening.
  • Ensure each nut is tightened to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 80-100 ft-lbs for most vehicles; refer to the owner’s manual for exact specifications).
