Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Address Coolant Leaks
  • Tools Required: Socket set, coolant catch pan, hose clamps.
  • Inspect and replace any damaged hoses.
  • Tighten or replace hose clamps as necessary.
  • If a leak is found at the radiator, replace the radiator.
3. Replace the Thermostat
  • Tools Required: Socket set, gasket scraper, new thermostat, gasket sealant.
  • Drain the coolant by removing the drain plug on the radiator.
  • Remove the thermostat housing bolts and take off the housing.
  • Remove the old thermostat and clean the mating surfaces.
  • Install the new thermostat with a new gasket and secure the housing.
4. Replace the Water Pump (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, new water pump, gasket.
  • Drain the coolant completely.
  • Remove the serpentine belt from the water pump pulley.
  • Unscrew the water pump bolts and remove the old pump.
  • Clean the mounting surface and install the new pump with a new gasket, tightening to manufacturer torque specifications.
5. Inspect and Repair Cooling Fans
  • Tools Required: Multimeter, wiring harness diagrams.
  • Check the fan operation by testing voltage at the fan connector.
  • If the fan does not operate, replace the fan motor or check the relay and wiring for faults.
