Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Needed: Socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, screwdrivers, and a vacuum cleaner (for cleaning).
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery, starting with the negative terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Unscrew any bolts or clips securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift the engine cover off the engine bay and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  • Locate the ignition coil(s) on the engine.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket or screwdriver.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well. If it is stuck, wiggle it slightly while pulling.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the new ignition coil connector to ensure a good electrical connection.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it is seated properly.
  • Reinstall the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil and torque them to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 8-10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reassemble Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine bay and secure it with the bolts or clips removed earlier.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and ensure it is tightened securely.
7. Test the Vehicle
  • Start the engine and check for any abnormal sounds or warning lights on the dashboard.
