Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools:
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Torx screwdriver (T20 or appropriate size)
    • New cabin air filter
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents.
  2. Locate the limiting strap (a small plastic strap) on the right side of the glove compartment and gently unclip it to allow the glove compartment to fully open.
  3. Remove the screws securing the glove compartment (typically Torx screws) and set them aside.
  4. Carefully pull the glove compartment towards you to release it from its mounting points and fully remove it from the dashboard.
3. Remove and Replace the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is typically situated behind the glove compartment area.
  2. Release the clips or screws securing the cabin air filter cover and remove it.
  3. Gently pull out the old cabin air filter, noting its orientation for replacement.
  4. Insert the new cabin air filter in the same orientation as the old one, ensuring it fits snugly.
  5. Reattach the cabin air filter cover and secure it with clips or screws.
4. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Reinstall the glove compartment by positioning it back into place.
  2. Secure the glove compartment with screws removed earlier.
  3. Reattach the limiting strap on the right side of the glove compartment.
  4. Close the glove compartment and ensure it operates smoothly.
