Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the ignition system.
2. Access the Ignition Coil
  • Remove the engine cover (if applicable) by unscrewing any fasteners.
  • Locate the ignition coils on the engine, typically mounted on top of the spark plugs.
3. Remove Faulty Ignition Coil
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab.
  • Remove the retaining bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket set.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Ensure the new ignition coil is compatible with your BMW X5 F15.
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to prevent moisture ingress.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well and secure it with the retaining bolt(s).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Replace the engine cover if it was removed.
  • Reconnect the battery terminals.
  • Start the engine and observe for any faults or irregularities.
