Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any plastic engine covers to access the fuel rail.
  • Use a socket set to unbolt the covers, being careful not to damage any clips or connectors.
3. Disconnect Fuel Lines
  • Use a fuel line disconnect tool to carefully detach the fuel lines from the fuel rail.
  • Have a rag handy to catch any spilled fuel and allow the system to depressurize completely.
4. Remove Fuel Rail and Injectors
  • Unbolt the fuel rail from the intake manifold using a socket set.
  • Gently pull the fuel rail away from the intake, ensuring the injectors come out with it.
  • Carefully pull each injector from the rail by twisting slightly if necessary.
5. Inspect and Replace Injectors
  • Compare the old injectors with new ones for compatibility.
  • Lubricate the new injector O-rings with engine oil for a proper seal.
  • Insert each new injector into the fuel rail and press firmly until seated.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Position the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines, ensuring they are securely attached.
7. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the fuel injectors and lines.
  • Allow the engine to idle and monitor for any check engine light or abnormal operation.
