Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and materials needed for cleaning.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torx driver set
    • MAF cleaner spray
    • Soft cloth or lint-free wipes
  • Ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is parked on a flat surface.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical short circuits.
3. Remove MAF Sensor
  • Locate the MAF sensor, typically situated between the air filter and the throttle body.
  • Use a Torx driver to remove the screws or bolts securing the MAF sensor.
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling it away.
4. Clean MAF Sensor
  • Hold the MAF sensor by the plastic housing, avoiding contact with the sensor element.
  • Spray MAF cleaner liberally onto the sensor element and wiring, allowing the cleaner to evaporate completely.
  • Do not use compressed air or touch the sensor element with any objects.
5. Reinstall MAF Sensor
  • Position the MAF sensor back in its original location.
  • Reattach the electrical connector securely until it clicks into place.
  • Use the Torx driver to reinstall the screws or bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer’s specifications.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery securely.
