Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Refrigerant recharge kit, manifold gauge set.
  • Steps:
    1. Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge set to the AC service port.
    2. Attach the refrigerant can to the gauge set.
    3. Start the vehicle and turn on the AC to maximum.
    4. Open the valve on the refrigerant can and monitor the gauge pressure.
    5. Add refrigerant until the pressure reaches the manufacturer's specified range.
3. Replace AC Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, AC compressor removal tool.
  • Steps:
    1. Disconnect the battery again.
    2. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner.
    3. Disconnect the electrical connectors and refrigerant lines from the AC compressor.
    4. Remove the mounting bolts securing the compressor and take out the old compressor.
    5. Install the new compressor and torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
    6. Reconnect the refrigerant lines and electrical connectors.
4. Replace Cabin Air Filter (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: None (if no tools are specified).
  • Steps:
    1. Locate the cabin air filter compartment, usually behind the glove box.
    2. Remove the cover and take out the old filter.
    3. Install the new filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
    4. Reattach the cover.
5. Final Assembly
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Run the vehicle and check if the AC is functioning properly.
