Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and securely lift it using a jack and jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the affected wheel.
  • Lift the vehicle with a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Inspect Brake Components
  • Brake Rotors:
    • Check for warping by visually inspecting the surface.
    • If warped, proceed to replace the rotors.
  • Brake Pads:
    • Inspect the pads for uneven wear. Replace if necessary.
  • Calipers:
    • Ensure calipers move freely and are not sticking. Replace if binding occurs.
4. Replace Brake Rotors and Pads
  • Rotors:
    • Remove the caliper bracket bolts and lift the caliper off the rotor.
    • Remove the old rotor. Install new rotor and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications (typically around 70-90 Nm).
  • Brake Pads:
    • Remove old pads and install new pads in the caliper bracket.
    • Apply brake grease on the backing of the pads to prevent noise.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall the caliper and torque the caliper bolts to specification.
  • Reinstall the wheel and torque the lug nuts in a star pattern to the manufacturer's specification (typically around 110 Nm).
  • Lower the vehicle and reconnect the battery.
