Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shock.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
2. Inspect and Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver set, throttle body cleaner, clean rags.
  • Remove the air intake duct attached to the throttle body.
  • Use a throttle body cleaner to spray the inside of the throttle body.
  • Gently scrub the throttle plate and interior with a clean rag to remove carbon buildup.
  • Reattach the air intake duct securely.
3. Replace the Fuel Filter
  • Tools Required: Fuel line disconnect tool, socket set.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the battery again.
  • Locate the fuel filter and use the fuel line disconnect tool to remove the filter.
  • Install the new fuel filter, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free.
  • Reconnect the battery and replace the fuel pump fuse.
4. Test the Fuel Pump
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge.
  • Disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail and connect the fuel pressure gauge to the line.
  • Turn the ignition to the "On" position (do not start) to check for fuel pressure.
  • Compare the reading with the manufacturer's specifications; replace the fuel pump if the pressure is below spec.
