Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Wear safety glasses and gloves for protection.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a jack to lift the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  • Remove the wheel lug nuts using a socket set and take off the wheel.
3. Remove the Shock Absorber
  • Locate the upper and lower mounting points of the shock absorber.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the shock at both ends.
  • Carefully pull the shock absorber out of its mounting position.
4. Install New Shock Absorber
  • Align the new shock absorber in place.
  • Secure it first at the bottom mounting point, tightening the bolt to the manufacturer's torque specifications (usually around 30-50 Nm).
  • Attach the upper mounting point and tighten the bolt to the specified torque (check service manual for exact specs).
5. Reinstall the Wheel
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub.
  • Hand-tighten the lug nuts, then lower the vehicle and torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
6. Final Checks
  • Inspect all connections and ensure everything is secure.
  • Lower the vehicle completely and check the shock absorber for proper placement and operation.
