Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Check Oil Level
  • Remove the oil dipstick, wipe it clean, and reinsert it fully.
  • Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level. If low, add the appropriate oil until it reaches the correct level.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Filter
  • Locate the oil filter, usually mounted on the engine block.
  • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter.
  • Apply a small amount of new engine oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
  • Install the new oil filter and tighten it to manufacturer specifications.
4. Change Engine Oil
  • Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan.
  • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench and allow the old oil to completely drain out.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque (typically around 25 Nm).
  • Refill the engine with the appropriate type and amount of new engine oil (check the owner’s manual for specifications).
5. Test Oil Pressure
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it idle.
  • Use a mechanical oil pressure gauge to check the actual oil pressure at the oil pressure sending unit location.
  • Compare the reading with specified oil pressure values (usually around 20-60 psi when the engine is at operating temperature).
6. Inspect and Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit (if necessary)
  • If low oil pressure persists, locate the oil pressure sending unit.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the unit using a wrench.
  • Install a new oil pressure sending unit and reconnect the electrical connector.
