Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather diagnostic tools and components needed for replacement.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during electrical work.
2. Replace the Air Filter
  • Remove the air intake cover by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  • Take out the old air filter and inspect the air intake duct for debris.
  • Install the new air filter, ensuring it fits snugly in place.
  • Reattach the air intake cover and secure it with the screws.
3. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if necessary)
  • Using the fuel pressure gauge, connect it to the fuel rail test port.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine and check the pressure reading against specifications.
  • If the pressure is below specifications, replace the fuel pump:
    • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
    • Disconnect the battery, remove the fuel tank access panel, and disconnect the fuel lines.
    • Remove the old fuel pump assembly and replace it with the new pump, ensuring proper sealing and connections.
    • Reconnect the battery and test for proper operation.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils (if necessary)
  • Remove the engine cover to access the ignition coils.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  • Remove the coils and inspect the spark plugs for wear or fouling.
  • Replace spark plugs with OEM specifications, ensuring the correct gap.
  • Reinstall ignition coils and reconnect the electrical connectors.
5. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct from the throttle body.
  • Use a throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to clean the throttle plate and interior of the throttle body.
  • Ensure the throttle plate moves freely and is not sticking.
  • Reattach the air intake duct.
