Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine turned off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid electrical shorts.
2. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver, new cabin air filter
  • Remove the glove compartment by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  • Locate the cabin air filter housing and remove the cover.
  • Take out the old cabin air filter and insert the new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  • Reassemble the glove compartment.
3. Recharge A/C System
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant
  • Connect the manifold gauges to the A/C service ports.
  • Start the engine and turn on the A/C to the maximum setting.
  • Check the low and high-side pressures; if low, add refrigerant until the system reaches the manufacturer's recommended levels.
  • Monitor for any leaks and ensure the system is functioning correctly.
4. Replace Blower Motor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, new blower motor
  • Remove the blower motor cover located under the dashboard.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
  • Unscrew and remove the blower motor from its housing.
  • Install the new blower motor and reconnect the electrical connector.
  • Reassemble any covers or panels removed.
5. Test Temperature Control Actuator
  • Tools Required: Multimeter
  • Access the actuator by removing the necessary panels.
  • Use the multimeter to check for power and ground at the actuator connector.
  • If there is no power, trace back to the HVAC control module for faults.
  • Replace the actuator if it is defective.
