Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, and safety gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the ignition is off.
2. Using an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Locate the OBD-II port under the dashboard on the driver's side.
  2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the port.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine).
  4. Follow the scanner's instructions to navigate to the 'Erase Codes' or 'Reset' function.
  5. Confirm the reset when prompted by the scanner.
  6. Disconnect the scanner once the reset is complete.
3. Manual Battery Disconnection (if preferred)
  1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
  2. Open the hood and locate the battery.
  3. Use a socket wrench to loosen the negative (-) battery terminal bolt.
  4. Remove the negative terminal and wait for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Reattach the negative terminal and tighten the bolt securely.
  6. Close the hood and start the engine to check if the check engine light is off.
